8 January 2019: President Béji Kingpin ESSEBSI today announced that in Tunisia the state of emergency is prolonged until 4 February, in force in the country since a series of bloody jihadi attacks in 2015.

The head of state Béji kingpin Essebsi “decided to extend the state of emergency for one month from 6 January until 4 February, following consultations with the head of government and the President of the Assembly of representatives of the people”, she said in A brief statement. “This extension would probably be the last one pending the adoption by Parliament of a draft law regulating the state of emergency,” added, under the guise of anonymity, a person in charge of the Presidency of the Republic.
