April 6, 2018 : the family of young Tunisian Fakhri Landolsi (from Kairouan) calls on the Tunisian authorities to intervene urgently to save their son sentenced to death in Qatar for murdering a foreign national.
His mother, Wassila Landolsi, told TAP that on March 28, 2018, the Qatari justice pronounced a death sentence on her son for a crime he denies he committed. “He called me on Tuesday to inform me that he will be executed,” she said.
Holder of a master’s degree in English, the young Tunisian landed in Qatar on October 1, 2016, in search of work. The mother says she has lost contact with her son since June 14, 2017.
Only last July the Foreign Ministry told her that hers son had been arrested in Qatar for murder.
Fakhri’s mother says that her son assured her that he was innocent and that the cameras had proved that he was a simple passerby near the crime scene.
