7 June 2017: the Egypt’s Court of Cassation confirmed the death sentence for six university students in the  “Mansoura Guard Killing Case”. The names of the six students are 30-year-old Bassim Mohsen Ali Al Khoreiby, 28-year-old Khalid Askar, 24-year-old Mahmoud Mahmoud Wahba Attia, 27-year-old Ahmed Al Waleed Al Sayed, 25-year-old Ibrahim Yehyia Abdul Fattah Al Azab, and 24-year-old Abdul-Rahman Mohamed Attia. The students were detained in January, 2014. The students, who are being threatened with torture and their families, were put on trial by ordeal. The university students, whose death sentence was confirmed, may be executed at any moment. Human rights institutions are calling on the Sisi regime in Egypt to annul the death sentence of the students. In the judgement process which continued in the aftermath of the coup made in Egypt on July 3, 2013 at al-Sisi’s command, scores of people were imposed with life imprisonment and death sentences.
